Celebrating its 30th season in 2017, the New Zealand String Quartet has established an international reputation for its insightful interpretations, compelling communication, and dynamic performing style. The Quartet is known for its imaginative programming and for its powerful connection with audiences of all kinds. 

Today, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is recognised as an outstanding orchestra of international stature and our reputation for artistic excellence attracts many of the world’s leading conductors and soloists each year. This year, the NZSO was nominated for Best Orchestral Performance at the prestigious Grammy Awards.

Te Kōkī Trio comprises three full-time members of the staff from our Classical Performance programme – Martin Riseley (violin), Inbal Megiddo (cello) and Jian Liu (piano) – all of whom have extensive careers as professional musicians both nationally and internationally.

Wellington Viola Congress Orchestra

The Wellington Viola Congress Orchestra is comprised of local Wellington musicians and will be directed by Martin Riseley.
